In 1981 ging
huidige Wageningen Economic Research.
Krijn
inzichten.
For Wageningen UR he was involved in the management of several large, multidisciplinary research projects for the EU. Examples are Support of Farmers' Cooperatives (for DG Agri, 2011-12), SmartAgriFood (FP7 Future Internet PPP 2011-2013), FIspace (FI-PPP 2013 -2015), EuroDISH (FP7 2012-2015), FLINT (2014-2018) and the SCAR Collaborative Working Group AKIS (2010 - 2015).
Krijn J. Poppe is a member of the Province of South-Holland's Advisory Committee on the Quality of the Living' Environment. He has been a non-executive director of the Dutch cooperative Nautilus (active in organic vegetables), and is a member of the board of the Foundation SKAL (that certifies organic businesses) Until may 2017 he co-owned a small arable family farm in Flevoland. and since 2019 an arable farm in Zeeland.

The
Council for the Environment and Infrastructure (Rli) is the primary strategic
advisory board for the Dutch government and parliament in matters relating to
the physical environment and infrastructure. The Council operates independently
and provides solicited and unsolicited advice on policy affecting the
sustainable development of the human environment. The policy domains in which
it is active are therefore those of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the
Environment (I&M), the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ), and the Ministry
of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). Through its integrated approach
and strategic advice, the Council strives to provide greater depth and breadth
to the political and social debate, and to improve the quality of
decision-making processes
